Hardware
Radio-frequency instrumentation, antenna front ends and embedded sensing hardware — designed, built and characterised in house.
Draft section — content not final
These project pages are being written. Values shown as [TBD] are unresolved, and nothing on them is a final specification. Each project's draft specification is downloadable below.
DAQ Array
A high-speed USB data acquisition device with two operating modes: raw 40 MSPS sampling and IQ demodulation centered at 50 MHz with 10 MHz bandwidth — the digitizer for SDR and coherent array work, with an integrated L1/L5 switchable RF front end in the current configuration.
- Dual Mode — 40 MSPS raw or IQ demodulation (50 MHz center, 10 MHz BW)
- Integrated L1/L5 RF Front End — Band selection built into the current configuration
- 3 Synchronized Channels — Simultaneous sampling, phase-coherent across channels
- USB Interface — Plug-and-play, no specialized hardware required
Diversity GNSS Antenna FPGA
A static beam array: 25 antenna elements form 25 fixed beams, each feeding its own L1 GNSS receiver, and an FPGA mux selects the best position solution across the array. Single-band L1 only.
- 25 Fixed Beams — Pattern diversity from a static geometry
- 25 L1 Receivers — One receiver per beam, each with its own stream
- FPGA Mux — Best position solution selected across the 25 beams
Rower Hardware
SmartRowerGauge — a battery-powered rowing telemetry module that measures handle force, stroke power and motion, and broadcasts live metrics over ANT+ to the Garmin fitness ecosystem.
- ANT+ at 4 Hz — Fitness Equipment device profile, no display wiring
- 24-bit Force Measurement — 24-bit strain-gauge force measurement, 10 Hz sampling
- USB-C Charging — Rechargeable Li-Ion cell, on-board charger
